ABOUT OUR ADVISERS

Marc Ovits

After graduating from Leeds University with a Management Studies Honours degree, Marc began his professional career joining the Barclays Management Development Programme. Highlights of his time with Barclays included working with a senior executive team on a strategic assignment to assess the future of seven business units; evaluating leveraged buyouts in BZW’s New York office; originating syndicated loans for companies based throughout Europe in BZW’s award-winning team.

In 1998, Marc changed career path and joined Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein. This was the start of a decade-long career in institutional equity sales (stockbroking) at several global investment banks. Focusing on UK midcap companies, Marc and his colleague took the market by storm. Their novel and value-added approaches to stock picking helped clients generate impressive returns on their investments.

From there, he went on to build a successful career in equity sales, covering stocks of all market capitalisations across pan Europe, subsequently moving to Exane BNP Paribas, JP Morgan and ING. During this time Marc managed several teams, helped many companies raise capital, and led numerous IPOs.

Looking for a new career challenge, Marc decided to leverage his ‘investment know-how’ and embarked on a career in wealth management and financial planning. He joined the St. James’s Place Wealth Management Academy programme and opened his own practice. He obtained a Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning from the Chartered Insurance Institute along the way. Marc has since gained several more advanced qualifications in investment and financial planning, qualifying as a Chartered Financial Planner – the ‘gold standard’ recognition for financial advice.

Recently, Marc has chosen to move from a restricted advice proposition to an independent advice proposition, joining M&N Insurance Service Ltd.

“What I really love about my career is that I get to meet lots of people,” Marc explains.. “I take a personal pride in being able to help people improve, if not optimise their finances. My clients have acknowledged the differences I’ve made and have kindly helped me grow my business through recommendations and referrals.

“In my spare time, I like to spend time with my daughter and I’m also a keen sports fan.”
